Spinning and Weaving

This is the spinning wheel that a friend gave me, I'm still trying to get it to work properly.   I tried using normal string to fix the connector to the foot pedal and to keep the connector on the wheel hook but it snapped very quickly.  So, I need to get hold of some leather thong.....oo-er missus! ;-)

This is my Ovate belt, I think I managed to keep the weaving width fairly even.

I added some malachite, green moss agate and green jade to weigh down the end that hangs down.

The Celtic Knot pattern is courtesy of Guntram's Tablet Weaving Thingy just like it is on my Bardic belt and drinking horn.  The Awen patten (3 drops and 3 rays!) is my own design so is the four directional symbol.

This is my Bardic belt.

As you can see I struggled to get an even weaving width but practice makes perfect!

This piece of weaving was the first ever card-woven band I had made and I made so many mistakes that there was only about half a metre left after I cut all the mistakes out, so I decided it was ideal to make a drinking horn holder.  I hang this holder off the belt of my Druid robes....very fetching!  ;)

My leather watchstrap finally rotted off my wrist so as a 'temporary' measure I wove a strap...and it's still on there 2 years later!

This was my first attempt at weaving a Celtic knotwork.

Selection of items that I use for spinning and weaving.

Carded and dyed sheeps wool waiting to be spun.

This is my drop spindle and a skein of spun wool.
This was my first attempt at spinning.

These are two narrow bands that I wove from 'bought' wool.
The band on the left was 'card woven'.
The band on the right was 'Inkle woven'.
